10/28/2009: Three New Publications Now Available from Water Systems Council
Three new publications are now available from Water Systems Council, including an Updated Special Report on Who Owns the Water?, a wellcare® guide for Home Inspectors on “Evaluating Water Wells,” and a new wellcare® information sheet on “Well Water Treatment Options and Costs.”
10/9/2009: Water Systems Council Publishes Three Spanish Information Sheets
Water Systems Council announces three of its wellcare® information sheets have been translated into Spanish. The translated sheets include "La Desinfección de su Pozo" ("Disinfecting Your Well"), "Bacterias y Las Aguas Subterráneas" ("Bacteria & Groundwater"), and "La Compra de una Casa con un Pozo" ("Buying a Home with a Well").
Three new wellcare® information sheets on agricultural best management practices to protect groundwater are now available through Water Systems Council: “Protecting Groundwater through Agricultural Best Management Practices,” “Protecting Groundwater by Managing Animal Waste,” and “Protecting Groundwater through Proper Petroleum Storage Practices on the Farm.”
5/11/2009: New WSC Informational Sheet on Well Components: Pressure Switches Now Available
A new wellcare® information sheet on "Well Components: Pressure Switches" is now available. The sheet explains the purpose of a pressure switch in a well system, offers tips for choosing a pressure switch and provides illustrations and explanations of the various types of pressure switches.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) plans to use WSC's wellcare® information sheet on well disinfection as the basis for its updated guidelines on the topic.

More than 1,500 fourth and fifth graders from Maryland and Delaware schools participated in an exciting, educational water festival at Delaware Technical Community College in Dover, DE. The event, "Winning Water," was held as part of National Drinking Water Week.
